Don't keep the windows open, we've got to keep her out. And if I didn't know any better, I'd say you should shout. Because she's clutching hard and slipping violently, Trying her luck to fall through the gaps if she can, And if we're going to stay locked inside here, then You'd better keep her out. Out, out, she goes, but in, in, she groans, she won't give up even if It costs her all that mighty strength. So you push first And I will follow, a game of who can last 'till tomorrow With the uncertainty of who might fall first, We try and imagine all except the worst, but it won't suffice. We're stronger together but if we roll The dice of fortune, our numbers are dwindling every night, every second we fall a little weaker in her presence And we're holding on a little tighter, Because I see her now, I see her face And I'm not sure of the right escape. But as we hold on firmer again, I know perhaps this is the end, Because you and I can't fight the force, The force of nature and its rules, The force which pulls us far apart, The letter saying we aren't meant to be, Which I did know, yet failed to see.
